Recalls
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Hyundai Sonata vehicles. The software for the brake lights may cause the brake lights to flash and not illuminate properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Whether a recall was fixed on a particular car is known only to the manufacturer: check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Service bulletins
What Hyundai told its dealers about the 2024 Hyundai Sonata: known faults, fixes and updates.
| Bulletin | Summary |
|---|---|
| 11009154 | Hyundai has become aware that the subject vehicles may contain a faulty sensor in the EGR valve assembly which could potentially result in an electrical short. An electrical short within the EGR valve could lead to a malfunction of the EGR valve or crank position sensor, both of which reside on the same power circuit, resulting in the malfunction indicator light (MIL) illumination and/or sudden loss of drive power during operation. |
| 11008137 | The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly in certain vehicles (listed below) may contain a sensor that was contaminated with solder flux during manufacturing, which could potentially result in an electrical short. An electrical short within the EGR valve could lead to a Malfunction Indicator lamp (MIL) illumination (P0405, P0642, P0652, P0404/P049D/P240F). Follow the information in this bulletin to replace the EGR valve assembly and gasket. |
| 11008136 | The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly in certain vehicles may contain a sensor that was contaminated with solder flux during manufacturing, which could potentially result in an electrical short. An electrical short within the EGR valve could lead to a Malfunction Indicator lamp (MIL) illumination (P0405, P0642, P0652, P0404/P049D/P240F). The California Air Resources Board has determined that these vehicles may be releasing air pollutants which exceed Federal and California standards. |
| 11008135 | Some vehicles may exhibit a loss of connectivity or interruptions in the middle of using Connected Car Service (CCS) functions. This may be due to an occasional disconnection on Verizons communication network. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to reset the Connected Car Data Communication Unit (DCU) in Dealer Mode to resolve the connection. |
| 10253275 | This TSB provides a procedure to diagnose and replace, if necessary, an automatic transmission with Incorrect Ratio DTC (transmission clutch slip in gear above limit) listed on Page 2. |
| 10251285 | This bulletin contains information about the proper removal of the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all models. If the protective cover is not removed correctly, there is a possibility of the rubber insert and rail spring becoming partially separated on the inner side of the wiper blade, which could lead to poor wiping performance and/or possible scratching of the windshield glass. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to properly remove the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all new wiper blades. |
