The issue
On certian vehicles, production tolerance errors in the hood safety catch could allow accidental hood opening. If the hood is not securely latched in the full lock position, driving at high speed or hitting a large bump could cause the hood to open suddenly blocking the driver's vision.

Sur certains véhicules, un jeu insuffisant a été accordé, en usine, au loquet de sûreté du capot, ce qui entraîne l'ouverture accidentelle de celui-ci. Si le loquet n'accroche pas à fond, le capot peut s'ouvrir brusquement à grande vitesse ou à la suite d'un fort cahot et bloquer le champ visuel du conducteur. Cela peut entraîner une perte de maîtrise du véhicule et un accident.
