The issue

On certain Vanagon Synchro, out of round fuel filler neck pipe may not seat properly in fuel tank opening. This could result in fuel seepage. Also, fuel tank sending unit cover gasket may be damaged allowing fuel leakage. Both problems could result in a potential fire hazard. Correction: redesigned filler neck pipe will be installed and sending unit gasket will be replaced.

Sur certains Vanagon Synchro, le goulot de remplissage est ovalisé, ce qui risque de nuire à l'étanchéité du joint avec le réservoir de carburant. Par ailleurs, le joint du couvercle du transmetteur de la jauge peut être abîmé et non étanche. Les deux défauts peuvent provoquer un incendie.
