The issue

On certain 525I and 525IA vehicles, when driven at normal engine operating temperature with an ambient temperature of 5 degrees centigrade or less, different thermal expansion rates of the throttle valve shaft and housing may impede the movement of the valve and prevent the valve from returning to the closed position. If this occurs, the vehicle will not decelerate at the usual rate after the gas pedal is released. Correction: The axial clearance of the throttle valve housing will be measured and all housing with insufficient clearance will be replaced.

Sur certaines BMW 525I et 525IA, lorsque le moteur est à la température de fonctionnement normale et que la température ambiante est égale ou inférieur à 5 C, les taux de dilatation thermique différents entre l'axe et le corps du papillon des gaz peuvent gêner le mouvement du papillon au point qu'il ne puisse revenir à la position fermée. Si cela se produit, le véhicule peut ne pas ralentir aussi rapidement que la normale lorsque la pression sur l'accélérateur est relâchée.
