The issue

THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MECHANISM MAY CORRODE AND SEIZE DUE TO IMPROPER LUBRICATION. IF THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH WAS NOT PROPERLY ENGAGED AND THE PRIMARY HOOD LATCH WAS ALSO NOT ENGAGED, THE HOOD COULD FLY OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION RESULTING IN IMPAIRED DRIVER VISION AND A POSSIBLE CRASH. CORRECTION: OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL BE ADVISED BY MAIL OF CORRECT MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES FOR THE HOOD LATCH MECHANISM.

Le mécanisme du crocket secondaire du capot peut se corroder et se bloquer à cause d'une mauvaise lubrification. Si le crochet secondaire du capot est mal fermé et que le crochet principal est aussi mal fermé le capot peut s'ouvrir lorsque le véhicule est en mouvement. Si cela se produisait, la visibilité du conducteur serait réduite et un accident pourrait s'ensuivre.
