The issue

On certain vehicles, the shift cable locking plate may break, allowing the driver to shift into the Park position but making it very difficult to shift from the Park position. The gear shift lever and the PRNDL indicator may move, but the transmission will not shift from the Park position. If the driver were over time to manipulate the gear shift lever out of Park, the gear indicated on the PRNDL display may differ from the gear actually engaged. Correction: Automatic transmission shift cable lock plate will be replaced.

Sur certains véhicules, la plaque de blocage du câble de changement de vitesse peut briser, permettant au conducteur de sélectionner la position de stationnement (PARK) mais rendant très difficile tout changement de vitesse subséquent. Le levier de vitesses et l'indicateur de position de la transmission (PRNDL) pourront bouger mais la transmission restera en position de stationnement. Si le conducteur parvient éventuellement à désengager la position de stationnement, il se peut que la position réellement engagée ne soit pas celle indiquée par l'indicateur de sélection. Correction : La plaque de blocage du câble de changement de vitesses devra être remplacée.
