The issue

On certain school buses, in extreme cold weather, the microswitches used internally to position the stop arm sign in the open and closed positions may malfunction, causing the sign to open or close in an improper position, or to not open at all. Should the stop arm not perform properly, a child or pedestrian may be endangered by passing vehicles should the motorist not stop at the correct location. Correction: Dealers will retrofit the stop arm with a switch pack that is not sensitive to extreme cold weather.

Sur certains autobus scolaires, par temps extrêmement froid, les microcontacts internes utilisés pour positionner le panneau d'arrêt en position déployée et en position rabattue pourraient mal fonctionner, ce qui ferait en sorte que le panneau se déploierait ou se rabattrait dans une position inadéquate ou ne se déploierait pas du tout. Si le panneau ne fonctionnait pas adéquatement, un enfant ou un piéton pourrait être mis en danger si les automobilistes n'arrêtaient pas au bon endroit. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront mettre le panneau d'arrêt à niveau en utilisant des microcontacts qui ne sont pas sensibles au froid extrême.
