The issue

Certain van chassis' manufactured by Freightliner Custom Chassis were equipped with front hubs rated for a GAWR of only 6,000 lb instead of 7,000 lb. An overloaded front hub may fatigue prematurely and fracture allowing the front wheel to separate from the vehicle and cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Note: Further evaluation by Gunite Corporation (the hub manufacturer) revealed that, although initially rated for 6,000 lb, the hub is capable of handling a GAWR of 7,000 lb, therefore no corrective action is required.

Certains châssis de fourgon fabriqués par Freightliner Custom Chassis ont été équipés de moyeux avant dont le PNBE est de 6 000 lb, alors qu'il devrait être de 7 000 lb. Un moyeu avant surchargé pourrait s'user prématurément et se briser, ce qui permettrait à la roue avant de se détacher du véhicule et de causer un accident. Nota: après plus ample évaluation apporter par la compagnie Gunite (fabricant des moyeux avant), il fût découvert que les moyeux sont capables de supporter un PNBE de 7 000 lb, donc, aucune action correctrice n'est nécessaire.
