The issue
On certain vehicles, the lower yoke on the steering shaft may have been incorrectly fabricated. If the splines of the steering shaft push through the lower yoke, the steering wheel will be free to turn without any response from the vehicle. A loss of steering control could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will install a tension collar to the steering shaft to secure the connection to the yoke.

Sur certains véhicules, la chape inférieure de l'arbre de direction pourrait avoir été mal fabriquée. Si les cannelures de l'arbre de direction passaient à travers la chape inférieure, le volant serait libre de tourner sans que le véhicule ne réagisse. Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait causer un accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront installer un collet de tension sur l'arbre de direction pour fixer le raccord sur la chape.
