The issue

Certain Ditch Witch trailers fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 223 - Rear Impact Guard. The manufacturer did not equip the trailer with an adequate rear impact guard during assembly. A rear impact guard is a device installed on or near the rear of a trailer so that, when the trailer is struck from the rear, the device limits the distance that the striking vehicle's front end slides under the rear end of the trailer. Correction: Dealers will install a rear impact guard.

Certaines remorques Ditch Witch ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la NSVAC 223 - Dispositifs de protection arrière. Le fabricant n'a pas équipé la remorque d'un dispositif de protection arrière adéquat pendant le montage. Un dispositif de protection arrière est un dispositif posé sur l'arrière d'une remorque ou près de celui ci de façon à ce que, lorsque la remorque se fait emboutir par l'arrière, le dispositif limite la distance sur laquelle l'avant du véhicule percuteur glisse sous l'arrière de la remorque. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un dispositif de protection arrière.
