The issue
On certain vehicles equipped with adjustable brake pedals, the stop lamp switch wiring harness may be out of position. An improperly positioned harness could make contact with the u-joint assembly of the steering column. Repeated contact may eventually cause the wiring harness insulation to chafe. An electrical short could result in the loss of brake lights, engine stalling, or an inability to start the vehicle. Correction: Dealers will reposition the wiring harness.

Sur certains véhicules équipés de pédales de frein réglables, le faisceau de câbles d'interrupteur de feu d'arrêt pourrait ne pas être à la bonne place. Dans un tel cas, le faisceau pourrait toucher au joint universel de la colonne de direction. Un contact répété pourrait finir par user l'isolant du faisceau de câbles. Un court circuit pourrait causer la perte des feux de freinage, faire caler le moteur ou empêcher le démarrage du véhicule. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront repositionner le faisceau de câbles.
