The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with Workhorse Custom Chassis, an incorrect steering intermediate shaft may have been installed. The incorrect part has a finer pitch spline. Use of the incorrect part may cause the spline not to match correctly with the steering gear input shaft. This could cause the spline to strip if the steering wheel is turned with a significant amount of force. This failure is likely only to occur when the vehicle is stopped or during tight turning manoeuvres at very low speeds. This condition may result in a loss of steering control. Correction: Dealers will replace the shaft.

Sur certains véhicules utilisant un cadre de chassis Workhorse Custom Chassis, un arbre de direction intermédiaire incorrect pourrait avoir été posé. La mauvaise pièce a une cannelure de pas plus fine que la bonne pièce. Le fait d'utiliser la mauvaise pièce pourrait faire en sorte que la cannelure ne corresponde pas à l'arbre d'entrée du boîtier de direction. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que la cannelure soit éliminée si on tournait le volant avec une force importante. Cette défaillance risque de se produire seulement lorsque le Volant est tourné pendant que le véhicule est arrêté ou pendant un virage serré à très basse vitesse. Cela pourrait causer une perte de contrôle de la direction du véhicule. Correction: Les concessionnaires devront remplacer l'arbre.
