The issue
On certain motorcycles, the fuel sending unit wiring may have been routed incorrectly during vehicle assembly. As a result, the electrical wiring may contact the exhaust and become damaged. An electrical short would cause the fuel pump to stop functioning and the engine to stall. If the engine stops while the motorcycle is being driven, it would increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel sending unit wiring and reposition if necessary.

Sur certains motocyclettes, le câblage du capteur de niveau de carburant pourrait avoir été disposé de façon incorrecte pendant le montage du véhicule. En conséquence, le câblage électrique pourrait entrer en contact avec l'échappement et s'endommager. Un court circuit ferait arrêter la pompe à carburant et caler le moteur. Si le moteur s'arrêtait pendant que la motocyclette roule, cela augmenterait les risques d'accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter le câblage du capteur de niveau de carburant et le déplacer au besoin.
