The issue
On certain buses equipped with Ricon platform lifts, passengers using a wheelchair or mobility aid may approach the exposed lift doorway without the audible alarm alerting them of their proximity to the threshold. Should the threshold warning system fail to operate, the lift user can fall from the vehicle and be seriously injured. Correction: Owners will be provided with inspection and retrofi instructions.

Sur certains autobus munis d'un élévateur Ricon, des passagers utilisant un fauteuil roulant ou une aide à la mobilité pourraient s'approcher de la porte sans que l'alarme sonore les avertissent qu'ils sont près du seuil. Si le système d'avertissement de proximité du seuil ne fonctionnait pas, l'utilisateur de l'élévateur pourrait tomber du véhicule et être gravement blessé. Correction : On fournira aux propriétaires des instructions d'inspection et de mise à jour.
