The issue

On certain vehicles, the potting material that encapsulates the circuit board of the remote power module may not sufficiently seal the circuit board from water and contamination intrusion. If the encapsulation is compromised, water and contaminants may cause an internal electrical short. An electrical short could cause a fire which can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealers will install a fused electrical cable in the ground circuit of each suspect vehicle that has one or more remote power module(s).

Sur certains véhicules, le produit d'enrobage qui encapsule la carte de circuits imprimés du module d'alimentation à distance pourrait ne pas isoler suffisamment la carte de circuits imprimés contre les instrusions d'eau et de contaminants. Si l'encapusulation était compromise, de l'eau et des contaminants pourraient provoquer un court circuit interne. Un court circuit pourrait provoquer un incendie qui pourrait endommager des biens matériels, blesser quelqu'un ou entraîner des pertes de vie. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un câble électrique raccordé à un fusible sur le circuit de mise à la terre de chaque véhicule suspect muni d'au moins un module d'alimentation à distance.
