The issue
On certain scooters, the engine connecting rod could crack or break because of an improper heat treatment of the metal. Should this occur, the engine would immediately stop running. A loss of propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will disassemble the affected engine and replace the crankshaft assembly with one that has a properly heat-treated connecting rod.

Sur certains scooters, la bielle du moteur pourrait se fissurer ou se briser à cause d'un traitement thermique inadéquat du métal. Si la bielle se brisait, le moteur cesserait immédiatement de fonctionner. Un perte de propulsion, ajouté à l'état de la circulation et de la route, et aux réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmneter les risques d'accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront démonter le moteur visé et remplacer le vilebrequin par un vilebrequin muni d'une bielle adéquatement traitée thermiquement.
