The issue
Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 206 - Door Locks and Door Retention Components. The front and rear passenger-side door latches may have been switched during vehicle assembly. This could result in a passenger front door which cannot be opened by merely pulling on the interior handle and a rear door that can be opened with a simple pull of the interior door handle even if locked. Such a condition could affect the safe exiting of the vehicle in the event of a crash or protection of children from inadvertent opening of the rear door. Correction: Dealers will replace, if necessary, any incorrectly installed door latch assemblies.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la NSVAC 206 - Serrures de porte et composants de retenue de porte. Les loquets des portières de droite pourraient avoir été intervertis pendant le montage du véhicule. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que la portière avant de droite ne puisse être ouverte en tirant sur la poignée intérieure et que la portière arrière puisse être ouverte en tirant simplement sur la poignée intérieure de la portière même si la portière en question est verrouillée. Un tel problème pourrait rendre l'évacuation du véhicule moins sécuritaire en cas d'accident ou avoir une incidence négative sur la protection des enfants contre une ouverture imprévue de la portière arrière. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer, le cas échéant, tous les loquets de portière mal posés.
