The issue

On certain trucks, the battery cables may have been routed incorrectly and could chafe against the front suspension spring shackle. Continued contact could wear through the cable's insulation, which could result in an electrical short circuit. An electrical short could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a bracket to route the battery cables away from the front suspension spring shackles.

Sur certains camions, les câbles de batterie pourraient avoir été mal acheminés et s'user par frottement contre la jumelle de ressort de la suspension avant. Un contact continu pourrait percer l'isolation du câble, ce qui pourrait provoquer un court-circuit. Un court-circuit pourrait mettre le feu au véhicule, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un support pour éloigner les câbles de la batterie des jumelles de la suspension avant.
