The issue

On certain trucks, the hood strut assembly may have been incorrectly manufactured and could fail. This could prevent the safety latch (designed to keep the hood open during servicing) from functioning as intended, allowing the hood to close unexpectedly, which could cause injury to someone working in the engine compartment. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the hood strut assembly.

Sur certains camions, l'amortisseur du capot pourrait avoir été mal monté et pourrait faire défaut. Cela pourrait empêcher le loquet de sûreté (conçu pour garder le capot ouvert pendant l'entretien) de fonctionner comme prévu et permettre au capot de se fermer subitement, ce qui pourrait blesser quelqu'un en train de travailler sous le capot. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, si nécessaire, remplacer l'amortisseur du capot.
