The issue

Certain vehicles fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 206 – Door Locks and Door Retention Components. The sliding front doors were not equipped with either a primary latch system, or a door closure warning system, as prescribed by the Standard. Should a door slide open unexpectedly, unbelted occupants could fall out of the vehicle and sustain personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a "Door Ajar" warning indicator.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la NSVAC 206 – Serrures de porte et composants de retenue de porte. Les portières avant coulissantes n'ont pas été munies d'un loquet principal ou d'un système d'avertissement de fermeture, comme prescrit par la norme. Si une portière coulissante s'ouvrait subitement, les passagers qui n'auraient pas bouclé leur ceinture pourraient tomber du véhicule et se blesser. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront installer un témoin d'avertissement « porte entrouverte ».
