The issue

On certain vehicles, incorrect steering gearbox mounting bolts may have been installed during vehicles assembly. These bolts are longer than designed and could reach bottom, preventing the application of adequate tightening torque. Should the bolts loosen, the steering gear could separate from its mounting bracket, which may affect steering performance. A loss of steering control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gear mounting bolts.

Sur certains véhicules, des boulons inadéquats pourraient avoir été posés sur le boîtier de direction lors du montage du véhicule. Ces boulons sont trop longs et pourraient ne pas pouvoir être serrés suffisamment. Si les boulons se desserraient, le boîtier de direction pourrait se détacher de son support de fixation, ce qui pourrait avoir une incidence sur le rendement de la direction. Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les boulons de fixation du boîtier de direction.
