The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with an optional dual batteries, the owner's manual does not specify a maximum amperage rating for the auxiliary battery to the trailer wiring harness. If the circuit is overloaded, a fusible link may fail and could damage adjacent components, potentially resulting in a fire and increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install an 40 amp inline fuse and provide an owner's manual supplement containing maximum amp rating information. Note: Owners are advised not to use equipment that exceeds a 40 amp draw on the auxiliary battery trailer wiring.

Sur certains véhicules munis de batteries doubles facultatives, le manuel du propriétaire ne comporte aucune mention d'intensité (A) maximale pour la batterie auxiliaire raccordée au faisceau de câbles pour remorque. Si le circuit est surchargé, un fil fusible pourrait présenter une défaillance et endommager les composants adjacents, ce qui pourrait causer un incendie et augmenter le risque de blessures ou de dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront installer un fusible monté sur conducteur de 40 A et fournir un supplément au manuel du propriétaire contenant des renseignements sur l'intensité maximale (A). Remarque : Les propriétaires sont priés de ne pas utiliser du matériel qui nécessite une intensité de courant de plus de 40 A du câblage pour remorque raccordé à la batterie auxiliaire.
