The issue

On certain motorcycles, a resin bracket inside the fuel pump may swell and interfere with the impeller which may cause the fuel pump to stop working properly. While parked, this can prevent the engine from starting. While riding, particles may become stuck between the bracket and the impeller causing the engine to stall and possibly not restart. Engine stalling, in conjunction with traffic, road conditions, and driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the original fuel pump with an updated pump. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2016-444.

Sur certaines motocyclettes, un support de résine dans la pompe à carburant pourrait grossir et interférer avec la turbine, ce qui pourrait faire en sorte que la pompe à carburant cesse de fonctionner adéquatement. Lorsque la motocyclette est stationnée, cela pourrait empêcher le moteur de démarrer. Lorsque la motocyclette roule, des particules pourraient se coincer entre le support et la turbine, ce qui ferait caler le moteur et pourrait l'empêcher de redémarrer. Le calage du moteur, en conjonction avec la densité de la circulation, l'état de la route et les réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmenter les risques d'un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer la pompe à carburant d'origine par une pompe mise à jour. Note: Ce rappel est remplacé par le rappel 2016-444.
