The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with Push-to-Start/Stop (PTS) switch located at the bottom of the transmission shift controls, the switch could be inadvertently actuated, unintentionally causing the engine to shut off. An inadvertent actuation of the PTS switch would result in an audible chime through the radio speakers and a "Vehicle Switched Off" message on the vehicle information display. If the PTS switch is inadvertently actuated while driving, the restraint system may not perform as intended during a crash, which would increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM), and replace the gear shift module (GSM), which relocates the PTS switch.

Sur certains véhicules munis d'un interrupteur Push­to­Start/Stop (PTS) situé au bas des commandes de changement de rapport de la boîte de vitesses, l'interrupteur pourrait être actionné par erreur, ce qui arrêterait le moteur. Un actionnement par erreur de l'interrupteur PTS produirait un carillon dans les haut­parleurs de la radio et afficherait le message « Vehicle Switched Off » sur le dispositif d'affichage des renseignements du véhicule. Si l'interrupteur PTS était actionné par erreur pendant que le véhicule roule, le système de retenue pourrait ne pas fonctionner comme prévu lors d'un accident, ce qui augmenterait les risques de blessures ou de dommages à des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront reprogrammer le module de gestion du groupe motopropulseur (MGGMP), et remplacer le module de changement de rapport (MCR), ce qui déplace l'interrupteur PTS.
