The issue
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The functionality of the Airbag Status Indicator Lamp may have been incorrectly described in the owner’s manual. This will not affect the operation of the Occupant Sensor System but an occupant that does not correctly understand the airbag functionality may be at an increased risk of injury in a crash. Correction: Owners will receive a handbook supplement containing the proper information on the airbag system to add to the owners manual.

Certains véhicules pourraient ne pas satisfaire aux exigences de la NSVAC 208 – Systèmes de retenue des occupants en cas de collision frontale. Le fonctionnement du voyant d'état des coussins gonflables pourrait avoir été mal décrit dans le manuel d'utilisation. Cela n'aura aucune incidence sur le fonctionnement du système de détection de présence d'un occupant, mais un occupant qui ne comprend pas bien le fonctionnement du coussin gonflable pourrait courir un risque accru de blessures en cas de collision. Correction : Les propriétaires recevront un document contenant les bons renseignements sur le système de coussins gonflables qu'ils devront ajouter dans le manuel d'utilisation.
