The issue

On certain school buses, bolts securing the battery box to the bus body may be missing, causing the number of fasteners securing the battery box to be inadequate. In addition, battery terminal shields were also omitted, contributing to corrosion. This could result in the battery box separating from the vehicle and increase the risk of a fire and/or crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace corroded components, add shields and replace missing bolts.

Sur certains autobus scolaires, les boulons qui retiennent le compartiment de batterie sur la carrosserie de l'autobus pourraient être absents, ce qui ferait en sorte que nombre de dispositifs de fixation retenant le compartiment de batterie soit inadéquat. De plus, les dispositifs de protection de borne de batterie sont absents, ce qui contribue à la corrosion. Cela pourrait causer le détachement du compartiment de batterie du véhicule, ainsi qu'augmenter les risques d'accident ou de déclenchement d'un feu (ou les deux) pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les composants corrodés, ajouter des dispositifs de protection et remplacer les boulons manquants.
