Recall 2015471

The issue

On certain vehicles, the sealing ring between the fuel sending unit and the fuel tank may move out of position in a crash. This could increase the potential risk of a fuel leak in the event of a crash increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a retainer ring between the fuel sending unit and fuel tank. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2015-341.

Sur certains véhicules, le joint torique entre le capteur du niveau de carburant et le réservoir de carburant pourrait avoir été mal posé lors de l'assemblage. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques de fuite de carburant en cas d'accident, ce qui augmenterait les risques de déclenchement d'un feu pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront installer un anneau de blocage du capteur du niveau de carburant modifié. Remarque : Le présent rappel remplace le rappel 2015-341.
