The issue
On certain Digger Derricks, the fasteners used to secure the rotation bearing could fail due to stress corrosion cracking caused by improper heat treatment. If this occurs, the boom with the digger attachment could separate from the truck, which could increase the risk of injury to the operator and bystanders. Correction: Customers will be notified to immediately inspect the fasteners and perform a torque inspection. If any fasteners are found broken or break during the torque inspection, the unit must be taken out of service until they are replaced. If none of the fasteners are broken, the unit can stay in service as long as the fasteners are inspected on a daily basis until they are replaced.

Les attaches servant à fixer en place le palier de rotation de certaines tarières pourraient se briser en raison d'une fissuration par corrosion sous contrainte causée par un traitement thermique inadéquat. Dans ce cas, la flèche munie de la tarière pourrait se détacher du camion et augmenter les risques de blessures à l'opérateur et aux individus se trouvant à proximité. Correction: Les clients recevront un avis les informant d'inspecter immédiatement les attaches et le couple. Si l'une des attaches est brisée ou se brise durant l'inspection du couple, la tarière doit être mise hors service jusqu'au remplacement de l'attache. Si aucune attache n'est brisée, la tarière peut demeurer en service à condition d'inspecter quotidiennement les attaches jusqu'à leur remplacement.
