The issue

On certain vehicles, improperly tempered bolts may have been used to install certain seats, seatbacks, seatbelt buckles, or seatbelt anchors due to a manufacturing issue. An improperly tempered bolt could fracture and compromise the structural integrity of the seat and/or seatbelt system's performance in a sudden stop or crash, which could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will inspect the bolts, and will remove and replace as necessary. Note: Only E-350 Extended Wagon models with 11-, 12- or 15-passenger seating configurations are involved in this recall.

Sur certains véhicules, des boulons mal trempés pourraient, en raison d'un problème lors de la construction, avoir été utilisés pour installer certains sièges et dossiers de siège, certaines boucles de ceinture ou certains ancrages de ceinture. Un boulon mal trempé pourrait se casser et compromettre l'intégrité structurale du siège ou le rendement du système de ceinture lors d'un arrêt soudain ou d'une collision, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures aux occupants du véhicule. Correction : Les concessionnaires doivent inspecter les boulons et les enlever et les remplacer au besoin. Note : Seules les configurations E-350 Extended Wagon de 11, 12 ou 15 passagers sont visées par ce rappel.
