The issue

Certain school buses built on a Ford or GM chassis may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 220 – Rollover Protection. The downward vertical movement of the roof structure of the vehicle may be higher than the requirements of the standard, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a rollover. Correction: Dealers will add a reinforcement plate to the front structure to meet the requirements of the standard.

Certains autobus scolaires construits sur un châssis Ford ou GM pourraient ne pas être conformes aux exigences de la Norme de sécurité des véhicules automobiles du Canada (NSVAC) 220 - Protection contre les tonneaux. Le mouvement descendant à la verticale de la structure du toit pourrait être plus grand que ce qui est prévu selon les exigences de la norme, augmentant ainsi les risques de blessures en cas de tonneaux. Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront ajouter une plaque de renfort à la structure avant pour satisfaire aux exigences de la norme.
