Recall 2018497

The issue

On certain vehicles, a crankshaft sensor error may cause the engine to stall. This would result in a loss of motive power, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the crankshaft sensor. Note: This condition would result in the illumination of the check engine warning lamp and an “engine malfunction” message appearing in the instrument cluster. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2018-373.

Sur certains véhicules, une erreur de capteur de vilebrequin pourrait faire en sorte que le moteur cale. Cela résulterait en une perte de puissance motrice, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques d'un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le capteur du vilebrequin. Note : Cela causerait l'illumination du voyant d'avertissement du moteur, ainsi que l'apparaition du message « Engine Malfunction » dans le groupe d'instruments. Remarque : Le présent rappel s’ajoute au rappel 2018-373.
