The issue
On certain hopper-bottom trailers, the rivets that secure the grab handle to the rear corner post of the lead trailer may not be of sufficient strength. If an operator were use the grab handle to assist in climbing up the trailer, the rivets could break, causing the handle to detach and creating a fall hazard with the risk of injury. Dealers will replace the rivets with new, stronger stainless steel rivets.

Sur certaines remorques à trémie, les rivets qui fixent la poignée montoir au montant d'angle arrière de la remorque principale pourraient ne pas être assez résistants. Si un opérateur utilise la poignée montoir pour l'aider à monter sur la remorque, les rivets pourraient se briser, ce qui causerait le détachement de la poignée et présenterait un risque de chute pouvant entraîner des blessures. Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les rivets par de nouveaux rivets en acier inoxydable plus résistants.
