The issue

Issue: On certain 4x4 trucks, the rear driveshaft may not have been properly welded. As a result, a weld could break and cause the driveshaft to detach from the truck. If the vehicle was in rear wheel drive mode, this would cause a loss of propulsion. Safety Risk: A driveshaft that detaches could result in a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driveshaft that separates from the truck could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace the rear driveshaft with one that is properly welded.

Problème : Dans certains camions 4x4, l'arbre de transmission arrière pourrait avoir été mal soudé. Par conséquent, une soudure pourrait se briser et faire en sorte que l'arbre de transmission se sépare du camion. Si le véhicule est en mode propulsion arrière, cela causerait une perte de propulsion. Risque pour la sécurité : Un arbre de transmission qui se sépare du camion pourrait causer une perte de propulsion, ce qui augmenterait les risques d'accident. De plus, un arbre de transmission qui se sépare du camion pourrait représenter un danger pour les autres usagers de la route et les personnes à proximité. Mesure corrective : L'entreprise avisera les propriétaires par la poste. Les propriétaires touchés devront amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire afin de faire remplacer l'arbre de transmission arrière par un arbre de transmission soudé adéquatement.
