Recall 2019221

The issue

Issue: Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2019441. Please see recall 2019441 for more information. On certain trucks equipped with a power locking tailgate, the tailgate may open while driving. If this occurs, cargo that is not secured could fall out of the truck bed and onto the road. Note: This is an expansion of recall U74 (Transport Canada recall 2018-398). Safety Risk: Cargo that falls from the truck bed could create a road hazard for others. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a dealer to modify the tailgate locking mechanism.

Problème : Remarque : Ce rappel est remplacé par le rappel 2019441. Pour plus de renseignements, veuillez consulter le rappel 2019441. Dans certains camions munis d'un hayon à verrouillage électrique, le hayon pourrait s'ouvrir pendant que le véhicule est en mouvement. Si ce problème survient, les objets non fixés pourraient tomber du camion sur la route. Remarque : Le présent rappel s'ajoute au rappel U74 (rappel 2018-398 de Transports Canada). Risque pour la sécurité : Des objets qui tombent du camion pourraient causer un danger pour les autres usagers de la route. Mesure corrective : L'entreprise avisera les propriétaires par la poste. Les propriétaires touchés devront amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire afin de faire modifier le mécanisme de verrouillage du hayon.
