The issue

Issue: On certain cars, the right axle half-shaft could detach. This could cause a loss of power to the drive wheels. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied, this could allow the car to roll away. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the drive wheels or sudden, unexpected movement of the car could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their car to a dealer to inspect the right driveshaft. If the driveshaft is not fully engaged to the half-shaft, the driveshaft and half-shaft will be replaced.

Problème : Sur certaines voitures, le demi-arbre de l'essieu droit pourrait se détacher, ce qui pourrait entraîner une perte de puissance des roues motrices. De plus, si le frein de stationnement n'est pas serré, la voiture risque de rouler. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance des roues motrices ou un mouvement soudain et inattendu de la voiture pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Le constructeur doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur voiture chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter l'arbre de transmission droit. Si l'arbre d'entraînement n'est pas complètement engagé sur le demi-arbre, l'arbre d'entraînement et le demi-arbre seront remplacés.
