The issue

Issue: Certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner XBS chassis could have a problem with the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM). This could cause the tail lights not to work properly. Safety Risk: Brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their motorhome to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and repair the PDM as necessary.

Problème : Le module de distribution électrique (PDM) monté à l'arrière de certaines autocaravanes construites sur un châssis Freightliner XBS pourrait être défectueux. En effet, les feux arrière pourraient ne pas fonctionner correctement. Risques pour la sécurité : Des feux de freinage ou des clignotants qui ne fonctionnent pas peuvent faire en sorte que le conducteur suivant ne se rende pas compte que le véhicule qui le précède freine ou a l'intention d'effectuer un virage. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur autocaravane à un centre de service autorisé par DTNA pour faire inspecter et réparer le PDM si nécessaire.
