The issue

Issue: On certain motorcycles, there may be a problem with the front brake master cylinder. This could cause the front brake to progressively apply (automatically) until the motorcycle stops. If this happens, when the motorcycle slows down, the rear brake light would not turn on. Safety Risk: A motorcycle that brakes without turning on the brake lights could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is slowing. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the front brake master cylinder.

Problème Le maître-cylindre du frein avant de certaines motocyclettes pourrait présenter un problème qui entraîne l'application progressive (automatique) du frein jusqu'à l'arrêt du véhicule, situation dans laquelle le feu de frein arrière ne s'allume pas lorsque la motocyclette ralentit. Risque en matière de sécurité Le freinage d'une motocyclette sans l'allumage du feu approprié pourrait laisser croire à des conducteurs que la moto devant eux ne ralentit pas, ce qui pourrait accroître les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives L'entreprise signalera le problème aux propriétaires touchés par courrier et leur demandera de conduire leur véhicule jusqu'aux installations d'un détaillant chargé d'inspecter le véhicule et, s'il y a lieu, d'en remplacer le maître-cylindre de frein avant.
