The issue

Issue: On certain low speed vehicles, the starter generator wire may not be properly secured. This could result in contact between the wire and the exhaust. If the exhaust is hot, it could melt the wire and cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Owners should stop using their vehicle until the recall repairs are completed. The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, re-route the starter generator wire away from the exhaust.

Problème Dans certains véhicules lents, le câble de démarreur-générateur pourrait ne pas avoir été adéquatement fixé, si bien qu'il pourrait entrer en contact avec l'échappement qui, s'il est chaud, pourrait le faire fondre et provoquer un court-circuit. Risque en matière de sécurité Un court-circuit peut poser un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives Les propriétaires devraient cesser d'utiliser leur véhicule jusqu'à ce que les réparations visées par le rappel aient été effectuées. L'entreprise les informera du problème par courrier et leur demandera de conduire leur véhicule jusque chez un détaillant, où il sera inspecté et le câble de démarreur-générateur éloigné de l'échappement, s'il y a lieu.
