The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the secondary hood latch bracket may not have been properly welded. As a result, the bracket could move out of position and the secondary latch may not engage correctly. If this happens, and the primary hood latch is released, the hood may open suddenly while driving. Safety Risk: A hood that opens suddenly while driving could block the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the secondary hood latch bracket. It will be replaced, if necessary.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le support du verrou secondaire du capot pourrait ne pas avoir été correctement soudé. Par conséquent, le support pourrait se déplacer et le verrou secondaire pourrait ne pas s'engager correctement. Si cela se produisait, et que le verrou primaire du capot était relâché, le capot pourrait s'ouvrir soudainement pendant la conduite. Risques pour la sécurité : Un capot qui s'ouvre soudainement pendant la conduite pourrait bloquer la vue du conducteur et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Nissan doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'apporter leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter le support de verrouillage secondaire du capot et, au besoin, le faire remplacer.
