The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the connection points for the lower universal anchorage system (UAS), for securing a child or booster seat, may not be positioned correctly on the rear seat. Additionally, the head restraints in the rear seats may interfere with the proper installation of taller child or booster seats that have rigid lower anchor connectors. Note: This recall affects Super Cab models equipped with rear seats that have fixed head restraints. Safety Risk: A child or booster seat that is not properly attached or properly positioned could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the head restraints on the rear seats. Additionally, the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) will be inspected and repaired, as necessary.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, les points d'ancrage du dispositif universel d'ancrage (DUA) inférieur qui permettent de retenir un siège pour enfants ou un siège d'appoint pourraient ne pas être placés correctement sur le siège arrière. De plus, les appuie-têtes des sièges arrière pourraient nuire à l'installation adéquate d'un siège pour enfant ou d'un siège d'appoint plus grand doté de points d'ancrage inférieur rigides. Remarque : Ce rappel concerne les modèles Super Cab équipés de sièges arrière dotés d'appuie-têtes fixes. Risques pour la sécurité : Un siège pour enfant ou un siège d'appoint qui n'est pas fixé ou positionné correctement pourrait augmenter le risque de blessures en cas d'accident. Mesures correctives : Ford doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste pour leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer les appuie-têtes des sièges arrière. De plus, le DUA inférieur sera inspecté et réparé au besoin.
