The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the child safety lock on the right rear door may not work properly. As a result, the door could be opened from the inside of the vehicle when the safety lock is in the "ON" position. Safety Risk: A child safety lock that does not work properly could allow a child to open a rear door while the vehicle is moving, and create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, replace the rear door latch(es). Ford will also provide you with instructions for how to check the child safety locks before taking your vehicle to the dealership.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, la serrure à verrouillage pour les enfants sur la portière arrière droite pourrait ne pas fonctionner correctement. Par conséquent, la portière pourrait être ouverte depuis l'intérieur du véhicule lorsque la serrure de verrouillage est actionnée (en position « ON »). Risques pour la sécurité : Si la serrure de verrouillage pour les enfants ne fonctionne pas correctement, un enfant pourrait ouvrir une portière arrière pendant que le véhicule est en mouvement, ce qui créerait un risque de blessure. Mesures correctives : Ford doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour inspecter la ou les serrures des portières arrière, ainsi que les remplacer au besoin. Ford doit également vous fournir des instructions sur la manière d'inspecter les serrures à verrouillage pour les enfants avant d'amener votre véhicule chez le concessionnaire.
