The issue
Issue: On certain school buses, the warning lamp for the electronic stability control (ESC) system doesn't turn on when there is an ESC malfunction. Instead, only the traction control lamp will turn on. Safety Risk: A driver that isn't aware of an ESC malfunction could have increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealership to update the antilock brake system (ABS) electronic control unit.

Problème : Sur certains autobus scolaires, le témoin du système de contrôle de la stabilité (ESP) ne s'allume pas en cas de mauvais fonctionnement de l'ESP. Seul le témoin du système antipatinage s'allume. Risques pour la sécurité : Un conducteur qui n'est pas conscient d'un mauvais fonctionnement de l'ESP pourrait courir un risque accru d'accident. Mesures correctives : Navistar doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur autobus chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour l'unité de commande électronique du système de freinage antiblocage (ABS).
