The issue
Issue: On certain motorcycles, if you accidentally ride the motorcycle with the side stand extended, it may not retract if it contacts the ground. Canadian regulations require an extended side stand to retract when it touches the ground, and the motorcycle is moving forward. Safety Risk: A side stand that doesn't retract when it contacts the ground while riding could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Indian Motorcycle will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Problème : Sur certaines motocyclettes, si quelqu'un conduisait la motocyclette avec la béquille latérale accidentellement déployée, cette dernière pourrait ne pas se rétracter si elle touchait le sol. La réglementation canadienne exige qu'une béquille latérale déployée se rétracte lorsqu'elle touche le sol pendant que la motocyclette roule. Risques pour la sécurité : Une béquille latérale qui ne se rétracterait pas en touchant le sol pendant la conduite pourrait accroître les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Indian Motorcycle doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste. Les mesures correctives pour le présent rappel sont en cours d'élaboration.
