The issue

Issue: On certain trucks equipped with an automatic transmission, when the engine RPM increases for the stationary power take off (PTO), it can overcome the parking brake if the transmission is in drive or reverse gear. As a result, the truck may move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the truck could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to update the engine control module (ECM) software to enable the PTO neutral interlock.

Problème : Sur certains camions équipés d'une transmission automatique, lorsque le régime moteur augmente pour la prise de force à l'arrêt (PTO), il pourrait surmonter le frein de stationnement si la transmission est en marche avant ou marche arrière. Par conséquent, le camion pourrait se déplacer soudainement. Risques pour la sécurité : Un mouvement soudain et inattendu du camion pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Le constructeur doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel du module de commande du moteur afin d'activer le verrouillage au neutre de la prise de force.
