The issue
Issue: On one bus, there is an error in the vehicle identification number (VIN). The 9th digit of the VIN was incorrectly listed as "L", instead of "3". As a result, the bus cannot be properly identified using the VIN. Canadian regulations provide a format the VIN number that must be followed. Safety Risk: This error could cause confusion when trying to identify the bus using the VIN. Corrective Actions: Temsa will notify the owner by mail and provide them with a replacement VIN plate and compliance label along with instructions for installing them.

Problème : Sur un autobus, le numéro d'identification du véhicule (NIV) est erroné. En effet, on peut lire "L" au lieu de "3" au 9e chiffre du NIV. Par conséquent, le fabricant de l'autobus ne peut être identifié correctement à l'aide du NIV. La réglementation canadienne prévoit un format de numéro d'identification du véhicule qui doit être respecté. Risques pour la sécurité : Cette erreur pourrait causer de la confusion lorsqu'on essaie d'identifier l'autobus à l'aide du NIV. Mesures correctives : Temsa doit aviser le propriétaire par courrier et lui fournir une plaque NIV et une étiquette de conformité de remplacement, ainsi que des instructions pour les installer.
