The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the warning light for the antilock brake system (ABS) doesn't stay on when there's a problem with the system, and the vehicle is moving. Safety Risk: A driver that is not warned about a problem with the antilock brake system could have an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system electronic control unit software.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le voyant d'avertissement du système de freinage antiblocage (ABS) ne reste pas allumé s'il y a un problème avec le système et que le véhicule est en mouvement. Risques pour la sécurité : Si le conducteur n'est pas averti que le système ABS ne fonctionne pas, il pourrait y avoir un risque accru de collision. Mesures correctives : Navistar doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel de l'unité de commande électronique du système de freinage.
