The issue
Issue: On certain motorcycles, the wiring for the crankshaft position sensor may have been routed incorrectly. As a result, it could become damaged by contact with the exhaust head pipe. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Indian Motorcycle will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the crankshaft position sensor. It will be re-routed or replaced as necessary.

Problème : Sur certaines motocyclettes, le câblage du capteur de position du vilebrequin pourrait avoir été mal acheminé. Il pourrait donc s'endommager en entrant en contact avec le tuyau de tubulure d'échappement. Si cela se produisait, le moteur pourrait caler et le conducteur pourrait ne pas être en mesure de redémarrer. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte soudaine de puissance moteur pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Indian Motorcycle doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur motocyclette chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter le capteur de position du vilebrequin. Il sera réacheminé ou remplacé au besoin.
