The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the inversion valve in the air brake system may not work properly. As a result, there could be a delay before the parking brake applies. If this happens, the vehicle could move unexpectedly. This issue also causes the vehicle not to meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A delay before the parking brake applies could result in unintended vehicle movement, and create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify the owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, replace the inversion valve.

Problème : Sur certains camions, la valve d'inversion du système de freinage pneumatique pourrait ne pas fonctionner correctement. Par conséquent, il pourrait y avoir un délai avant que le frein de stationnement ne se serre. Si cela se produisait, le véhicule pourrait se déplacer soudainement. Ce problème empêche également le véhicule de satisfaire aux exigences de la réglementation canadienne. Risques pour la sécurité : Un délai avant le serrage du frein de stationnement pourrait entraîner un mouvement involontaire du véhicule et créer un risque de blessure ou d'accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion à un centre de service autorisé de DTNA pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, remplacer la valve d'inversion.
