The issue

Issue: On a small number of trucks, the high-voltage inverter cable may not have been tightened properly to the junction box. As a result, the connection could become loose and cause electrical arcing (sparks). If this happens, the high-voltage system could shut down and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the high-voltage inverter cable fasteners.

Problème : Sur un petit nombre de camions, le câble d'onduleur à haute tension pourrait avoir été mal serré à la boîte de jonction. Par conséquent, le raccordement pourrait se desserrer et causer un arc électrique (étincelles). Si cela se produit, le système à haute tension pourrait s'arrêter et entraîner une perte de puissance soudaine aux roues. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance soudaine aux roues pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion à un centre de service autorisé de DTNA pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, resserrer les boulons de fixation du câble d'ondulateur à haute tension.
