The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, if you try to start the engine repeatedly, the starter could overheat. If this happens, and nearby components contact the starter, it could cause a fire. Safety Risk: A fire can create the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, les tentatives de démarrage répétées pourraient faire en sorte que le démarreur surchauffe. Si cela se produisait, et que les composants à proximité entraient en contact avec le démarreur, il pourrait y avoir un incendie. Risques pour la sécurité : Un incendie peut créer un risque de blessure. Mesures correctives : BMW doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel du véhicule.
